About Me

Jane FosterMy name is Jane Foster. Helping Hands is my dream job. I just love to help people.  I want to help people maintain their independence in their own homes. I want to help lonely people. I want to help busy people. I just want to provide an extra pair of hands where needed and generally make people’s lives better.

Some people are not lucky enough to have family to call upon for help with changing a light bulb or dealing with some of life’s difficulties. I am happy to be like a family member and offer that personal support. I’m not a cleaner or a gardener but if you want help with these things and lack motivation to do them on your own, I am here to help tackle these chores with you.

A day out with a clientEven when you are fortunate to have family nearby it is not always possible with our busy lives to visit them as much as we would like.  This is where I can ease the burden. I will pop in once or twice a week for a cup of tea and a chat or I can take them out shopping. It will give you peace of mind to know that ‘mum’ or ‘dad’ is getting help and some much needed company.

On a personal note I am a mother of three girls and an active member of my local church which is where my passion for helping people began. I get job satisfaction from doing a good deed. This is where the idea for Helping Hands came about; to make a living doing what I am good at and help people at the same time.

I already volunteer regularly at The West Berks Food Bank and at Shoemakers Christian coffee shop, but now I want to branch out and follow my passion for helping people stay independent.
